Stay
We recommend staying at least two weeks (Bali has a lot more to offer than just our wedding night + jetlag makes shorter trips less worthwhile as travel time is easily around 20hrs one-way!)
When to arrive
Try to land on the 20th of September at the latest (wedding is on the 22nd, you’ll need at least 2 days to recover from jet lag)
Money & Payments
Indonesia’s currency is the Indonesian Rupiah (IDR
, with prices usually written as 10.000 Rp
).
You can pay with a card in most places, although having cash is always a good idea. We recommend using a Wise card to avoid high fees when withdrawing money from regular ATMs.
Why use Wise Using local exchange offices or ATMs with europeans cards often results in exorbitant fees. Wise allows you to transfer money and only pay a small one time exchange fee and free withdrawals up to 250€.
Wise
Set up a Wise account and order their international bank card (7€ one time payment). Use our referral link to easily sign up.
Transport & Food
Indonesia has its own Uber & Uber Eats app called Gojek, which is super handy for getting around + ordering food or other services.
Gojek
Set up Gojek account using our referral link.
Accommodations
We recommend to specifically book accommodations close to wedding venue for 1 night, as it will make it easier for you to get to the wedding and back to your hotel afterwards. The area is Uluwatu, on the south of Bali.
We have some deals here for you to check out.
For the rest, recommended areas to book are Canggu, Seminyak, Ubud, depending on what you’re looking for. Canggu is more relaxed, Ubud is more cultural, Seminyak is more party life.
